Answer Aloud: Math
Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026.
Practice answers belong to the learning session. Here is how the app handles them.
Curriculum That Matters, Inc. provides Answer Aloud: Math. This policy describes the native iPhone and iPad app and these product and support pages. It does not describe other company products or an independently hosted browser prototype.
1. Microphone and spoken answers
Voice practice asks for microphone and speech-recognition permissions. The app captures speech during an active listening session so it can recognize your answer. It uses Apple's Speech framework and requests on-device recognition when the device and language support it. Otherwise, audio may be sent to Apple for recognition. Apple's processing is described in Siri, Dictation & Privacy.
The app uses recognized words to check the current answer. It does not save audio recordings or a transcript history to app storage, and does not upload them to a Curriculum That Matters server. Recognized answers are processed during the current session.
You can use the built-in number pad without speech-recognition permissions. We do not promise that all voice recognition happens offline.
2. Settings and high scores on your device
The app stores practice preferences and Math Facts challenge high scores locally. Scores are associated with practice settings, not a named learner profile. There is no learner sign-in, school roster or cloud score account in this version. The publisher does not receive these local settings or scores through the app.
Local information remains until you reset the relevant records or remove the app's data. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple backup settings. We cannot remotely restore locally deleted scores.
3. Other network services
The planned App Store release bundles its display fonts, DM Sans and Outfit, inside the app and does not contact Google Fonts to load them. Earlier TestFlight builds loaded fonts from Google Fonts, which could expose standard connection information such as an IP address and request headers. Font requests did not include practice answers or saved scores. See Google’s privacy policy for those earlier builds.
The app contains a link to our website. When you open an external website, that website's privacy practices apply. These pages use local assets and system fonts and contain no contact form, advertising trackers, or embedded third-party content.
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, whose beacon is delivered by Cloudflare, to measure visits, page views, referring pages, and website performance. Cloudflare states that this analytics service does not use cookies or local storage for analytics. See Cloudflare’s analytics documentation. Our own page scripts do not set cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies when providing security features, such as challenges; see Cloudflare’s cookie information.
These pages are hosted by Cloudflare, which may process connection and security information to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
4. When you contact support
Support is intended for adults. If you email us, we receive your email address, the message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, investigate a problem, and keep track of the support request. Microsoft 365 processes support correspondence on our behalf. See Microsoft’s privacy statement.
We retain support correspondence for 12 months after the issue is resolved, then delete it. We retain it longer only when necessary for legal obligations or an ongoing dispute. To request deletion, access, or correction of support correspondence, or to raise a privacy concern, email support@aitoolsforedu.com. Requests are subject to applicable legal obligations.
Please do not send children's names, voice recordings, school records, passwords or payment information. If such information is received inadvertently, we will use it only as necessary to address the request and arrange its deletion when no longer needed.
5. Purchases, advertising and analytics
Apple handles the purchase and payment process. The app does not request or receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide the publisher sales, financial and diagnostic information through its developer services under Apple's settings and policies. That reporting is separate from the app's local practice records.
This version has no in-app advertising, ad-tracking SDK, embedded third-party analytics SDK, subscriptions or in-app purchases. We do not sell personal information or use practice answers for targeted advertising.
6. Children and family use
The app is designed for kindergarten through middle school, primarily younger learners. It does not ask children for a name, email address, birth date, photo or school identifier. Voice mode processes spoken answers as described above. A parent, caregiver or teacher should help with permissions and contact support when needed. Typed answers are available if you prefer not to use the microphone.
7. Your choices
- Choose typed answers instead of voice answers.
- Manage Microphone and Speech Recognition access in your device's Settings.
- Reset Math Facts high scores through the app's High scores screen.
- Remove local app data by deleting the app. This can remove saved scores; device backups are managed separately through Apple.
- Ask an adult to contact us about support correspondence or a privacy concern.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this page when the app's data practices change and identify the effective date of the revised policy. Material changes will be explained as appropriate.
